Healthy You Challenge - My First Week

I am so excited about the Healthy You Challenge, especially because of all the supportive people involved. We will all achieve our goals, I can feel it.

For my first weigh in, I am at 227. Technically that is down a pound. I will only weigh myself on Tuesdays from now on so I have a better idea of my weight loss. The every day fluctuations are hard to rely on. But for today I will take it:

I lost a pound!! One down, 70 or so to go.

When I work out later today I will use that as a little motivation. Hopefully I will also be able to use that as motivation with my eating. The problem is, I am home ALL DAY these days and I have nothing to do. So I turn to eating. Munchy, munchy, munchy me.

It must stop.

Even so, I am progressing just by being more aware of the things I am doing and not doing. Posting my story yesterday, acknowledging my weight, was a HUGE step for me. At least that is the right way to lose weight - one step at a time.

Hi Mary! Welcome to the Healthy You Challenge. I just joined last week, too. I had contemplated it for awhile before jumping in but now here I am :) Congrats on your loss! Sounds like you are doing awesome! I joined the YMCA last October and that helped me to lose 30+ pounds. I wish you the best of luck in your weight loss journey. You have lots of support here!

And I’ll add another “welcome” to Tammy’s welcome, and say that I ALSO just joined the Heatlthy You Challenge!

Let’s continue to support one another as we move forward. I KNOW it makes a huge difference to focus on getting healthy rather than the number on the scale.

Go Mary! Go Mary!

Hey, congratulations on the weight loss and good luck on your 5K training. I too, want to run 5K’s, but I am going to wait until I loose 20 pounds before training, because of my knees.

Looking forward to getting to know you over the coming year.

Thanks Felicia, Tammy, Pattie!

Grumpy Chair you should definitely start running when you lose that 20 pounds. It will be great.

I just joined the challenge, too. Isn’t it a great idea?

Congrats on your loss. Good job.

I’m at home all the time - I work from home - so I know your pain on the munching. Here’s what works for me … I have to get everything out of the house that isn’t 0 points or low points. And I put a big bowl of fruit on the table, that way when I reach for something it tends to be healthy.

Anyway, for what it’s worth, that’s what helped me in that situation.

Being aware is a HUGE step. You’re doing so well! Good for you.
